GPS/Cell Phone Mount for the Cheap-Minded

For my previous car, I had purchased a cheap GPS/cell phone mount and loved it. This is the one that I purchased:

http://www.monoprice.com/products/pr...seq=1&format=2

Despite its $3.57 price tag, it is very durable and easy to use (though, those with MINIs aren't very "cheap minded", hehe).

After doing searches in the past on this forum, I noticed the GoMiniGo GPS mount and others similar to this product, and didn't exactly like them - if I need to operate my GPS/phone while it is mounted, it just seems like the steering wheel would get in the way. With this GPS mount that I have linked above and location, everything seems easily accessible. Here is pic of my setup:

Hope I contributed a little

Is that a windshield suction cup mount?
My Garmin one keeps falling off in the heat and its really annoying. I'm looking for something that can be fixed to a panel, similar to the Mini accessory.

Not bad for the price.

I recently bought a Semsons mount. They make a bunch of different products and many are very in-expensive.

I use this one in my Mini with the OEM Garmin cradle. It's about $6. What I like is the fact you can unscrew the ball part from the base leaving just the black square with a threaded part the ball fits in. Doesn't look like a GPS mount and blends in with the dash.

Yep! It's a suction cup...I assure you, though, that it is pretty solid and wont budge (temperature has been in the mid 80s here for awhile + pretty dense humidity). Inside the box in which it came, there was a little plastic disk - you would peel the sticky and place it on the surface that you want to have the mount. I didn't want this on my windshield, so I am not using it.

Hey thanks. Exactly what I was just searching online for. I should have known it would be here on NAM I'm going to give one of these shot for my Incredible. I like the mounting location you have as well.

I found that having both the window and the suction cup really, really, REALLY clean my Garmin would stay on for months, even in really hot weather.

However, I got tired of it falling off eventually too, so I bought the Craven speed mount - it's very simple and clean install, my only complaint with it is I wish it was about 1" longer so that my new 1490T would sit just a titch to the left of where it is now. It's a bit spendy tho.....
