Needle in a...

Been searching for hours, can't find info on this. I have the factory installed ipod/usb with access in the dash cubby behind the shifter. I want to relocate the sockets to the secret compartment or glove box. I'm sure someone has done this already. Looking for any clean way to do this, please help. Point me to the thread several people say exist or pass on some info please.

Thanks,
Jeff

I spliced in some longer cables and ran them up behind some trim and now the iPod lives in the glove box.

Hi

I ran mine into the glove box so i can use either shuffle plugged in directly

or Ipod with the Y cable both work fine

Usb and jack just ran up the inside of the centre consule and drilled through the rear of the glovebox

regards

Thanks, what's involved in splicing/extending the wires that go to the jack? I cant imagine that there is much to the aux plug but what about the USB?

You can use extension cables, I started with that, it's simple. Then I got a second adapter (just in case things went wrong) desoldered the existing leads, and soldered in the connections. Soldering the USB is a little tricky, the wires are quite fine.
