DIY Wash Day: July 11, 11:00 AM

It's finally here!

Anyone who wants to have a nice, shiny MINI while getting tips, tricks, and maybe even some help from fellow motorers this event is for you!

If anyone has an early morning coffee craving we'll meet at Paul's Coffee and Tea around 10:15-10:30 and then head to Umberto's shop by 11:00.

We'll be doing everything from regular washes to some minor detailing and paint correction.

Finishing around 2-2:30 we'll either take our super clean MINI's on a Peak to Peak run or head home, your choice.

Paul's Coffee and Tea
956 West Cherry Street
Louisville, CO 80027

Umberto's Shop
1100 Pine Street
Louisville, CO

Will washing / waxing occur indoors or outdoors?

Outdoors. Pop ups can be brought if you would prefer shade but depending on the number on MINIs it can get a little tight.

We will have access to the forward part of the shop and the detail bay, but not any tools. Access to power if someone brings a PC.

We do have the entire lot from the street to the back, so our room for working on the MINIs is about double.

A couple of pop ups could be beneficial.

I will be at Umberto's on Saturday and earlier Sunday setting up hoses and moving cars to clear areas.

Thanks Teena for the link to last years fun.

This is still on, if anyone has special needs, please post something here and I will try to keep a list.

Don

Not sure we can accommodate anything complex, but someone may offer up some help.

ez up would be good for some special waxing applications or buffing. You going to bring out the PC?

Thanks Chuck, my left door needs a bit of professional help.

Remember, this is next Sunday, so keep your morning and early afternoon open.

Then the day is yours.

Sunday is looking like a good wash day. I see sun right now, but I imagine it is only for a few minutes.

Remember to bring some drying towels, at least 1 bucket and your favorite wash soap.

Remember it is a DIY wash.

We will meet at Paul's Coffee but folks who want to go over direct should plan on getting to Umberto's shop at 11.

Prima Car Care will provide all the soap you will need (Prima Mystique Autowash), as well as a couple of demo products to share.

I'm hoping to be there to help answer questions, etc, with my Mom, niece and Paia in tow... although we probably won't be able to stay for the entire gig due to Paia's napping needs.

I'll also bring a small handful of products to sell too! Please feel free to post (or email me) with any requests and I'll be sure to bring whatever you need. (note that we'll only be able to accept cash for purchases)

Hopefully see you all there!!

Absolutely! We'll bring some to share (demos) as well as for purchase. Should I bring just the 16oz bottles or gallon jugs too?

No naps for Chuck, he has PC work to do.

Heather, I will send you an email with a request for Mr. Umberto T.

Apparently he does wash his MINI a lot, just not many miles on the JCW.

I'll bring you some Jamie.
Oh and Don, I spent 9 hours today detailing the bosses Pilot. I'm in good graces, can't move and need a nap.
I was going to do the MINI today but it spent the day at Schomp getting new brakes.

New rotors and pads? How many miles did you get on the last set?

See you Sunday.

57,274 miles for the front - back set are still good. I don't use my brakes much.

I think I can make it to this function. I hope Umberto has a TV so we can watch Spain kick some butt over Holland. Heather do you have anything to clean the dash?
