Hi everybody. This is my first post, so bear with me. I bought an '04 MCS in July of last year and totally love it. I'm having a 17% Alta pulley installed on Saturday. My question is: The previous owner must have had a tricked out sound system because I can see the old wiring (heavy duty Monster cables) all throughout, from under the dash to the compartments by the taillights. He probably didn't want to part with the equipment when he sold it because it had a brand new basic Sony CD player in the dash. I'm looking for a used OEM MINI stereo to replace the Sony so that I can use the controls on the back of the steering wheel, which right now don't work with the aftermarket unit. Any suggestions as to where I should look (ebay, etc)?

The '05+ head units play MP3s (the earlier ones don't) and have a larger, knurreled volume ****. Welcome to NAM!

 

Reference my local board posting for OEM numbers if you need them: http://www.hrmini.com/component/opti.../topic,3120.0/. Basically, the unit should have a production date of about 27/04 or newer, which coincides with July '04 being the release date of the '05 MCS model. You should be able to pick one up for about $150 at the most.
