Just as an update for us San Diego motorers, I read an article in the Union Trib about MINI of San Diego opening in late May (which has obviously passed). I just called up to Kearney Mesa Acura, which is supposedly in the same lot, and they said it wasn't open yet.
So I called MINI USA and they said they had pushed back their opening to July, which I later confirmed on the MINIUSA.com.

They also have a website http://www.miniofsandiego.com, where there's pictures of the construction...kinda cool. BTW, the conact email for them on their website doesn't go through, I tried it also...

Anyway, thought this might be of interest, because if you're like me, you hate having to drive all the way up to Escondido for service and oil changes, etc. etc.

 

Their website looks like it's up and running so I sent them an email asking when their grand opening would be. My email got booted to the Escondido dealership and they replied with, "We received your internet request regarding the grand opening of SD MINI. They have moved the date several times, so we don't have that specific information."

 

Yep! Thaks for updating! I actually called and spoke with their scheduling service last week. Evidently, they "open" today but they couldn't officially schedule appointments until they were officially open. The gentleman was taking down everyone's names and numbers and would call us back to schedule appointments when they had received the go-ahead. So if I were you I'd call them and get your name on the list!

I was driving past it yesterday and saw a banner that says it's opening September 1st. That's only a few days away. Yay!

 

Yep! Confirmed, they opened yesterday. I spoke with Terry who is scheduling all the service appointments, and I have my oil change scheduled for this saturday! I will also be getting a tour of the new facility!

So go ahead and schedule your appointments people!

p.s. I don't know if they have any inventory yet or not, but their car wash is not up and running yet...

I had a test drive on a Clubman S last week over there, but they didn't set a designated test drive route yet...

So they do have inventory over there already? Do you remember if they had a Countryman to look at?
