12v to 5v ipod hookup
I am sure this question has been asked multiple times before but I couldn't find an answer through a search of this forum. I have an OEM IPod hookup on my newly acquired 2005 Cooper S Convertible, but of course it's the 12 volt charging connection. I can use my 3G IPhone as a music source, but it's not charging. How can I convert this to the 5 volt charging connection to charge my IPhone? I just tried an iSimple cable converter, but it doesn't work. Any suggestions on other adapters that work in a 2005 Cooper S convertible? Thanks, Terry
I have the same question. The only post I found with a valid link was for this website: http://cablejive.com/iphone_3g_charge_converter.html . But I wanted to find out more before I ordered one. I recently got an iPod Nano and it died after only 2-3 days in my MINI, which irritated me to no end. Thus I need a relatively cheap solution.

Ok, I ended up purchasing this connector: http://www.amazon.com/Scosche-passPO...0816936&sr=8-1
It works perfectly! I can now keep my 5th gen iPod Nano in my MINI without worrying about it dying. It was $17.49+Shipping, which is cheaper than Apple's price. If the link doesn't work, try searching Scosche passPort Charging Adapter.
