we are taking delivery today on our new 2010 Cooper S Cabrio and wanted to know if there is any kind of roof protectant we can get for the top to help it last longer this winter in the cold.

Yep. 303 fabric protector for me. My top still looks great after 3.5 years and 75,000 miles.

 

The mini dealer last night sold us the mini care products soft top repellent and the soft top cleaner. Should we return it and order the 303 aerospace cleaner instead?

It's like scotch guard for your topp, but will protect it better. Also it has UV protectants in it. Really great stuff.

 

I have used 303 for over 15 years on various tops .Yet i also think keeping it clean,not dropping it below 45 degrees and checking for wear inside and out will add life to it .Of course if a cable snaps nothing you can do
