Can't view on my nav screen my Ipod info!

l have a 09 Clubman with bluetooth and Ipod among other goodies. l have used, with great delight, the screen on my nav to read all the info about the tracks on my Ipod. So traveling to Sin City the other day l plugged in my Ipod to listen to some "Roadtrip" music and it will play the music but doesn't show any of the artist info and l can't change tracks on the steering wheel, It will control the volume but that's it. l have plugged and unplugged quite a few times and it is leaving me puzzled. Oh l have the plug that works with the USB port and mini headphone jack. It is not aftermarket, but factory install.

The USB transfers all the track info and the aux input carries the sound. It's behaving as though the USB side of your Y-adapter stopped working but the iPod is still connnected to the aux input. It's possible your Y-adapter is not making a good USB connection, or your car's USB electronics itself might have gone bad (more likely an issue with the Y adapter).

Just for kicks, try resetting your iPod. On the iPod (assuming not an iTouch or iPhone), press and hold down the middle button and Menu button together until an Apple logo appears. This procedure doesn't erase any music.
