You could take your VIN to a MINI dealer & they can have more keys made & programmed for you. Good Luck!

Youll also probably maybe need some sort of registration or proof that you own it lol

Yeah take your paperwork get a ride to the dealer, I think they go for about $150, and you're going to have to wait for it to get shipped from England/Germany, and there's only 10 per car, so hope this is #3.

And get some of these to attach the new key(s) too.

I'd also keep looking because when found the current MIA key should still be good.

You need to worry about car theft since they have your wallet and address. You should ask the dealer about disabling the old immobilizer code when you get new keys.

Sorry to hear this happened to you. Unfortunately your MINI only one of your problems now. With your wallet gone, you have to jump on protecting yourself against identity theft right away. Watch out for credit cards opened in your name. That hasn't happened to me but I did have charges appearing on a credit card within hours after I lost my wallet.

Man that really sucks! To get a new key you need your registration and license. Perhaps because your wallet and key were stolen your sob story will convince the person at the dealership to allow another form of identification... passport would be best.

They copy the ID and registration when they make the order for the new key, to prove that it is really the owner getting the key, which is why not having your license may be a problem. If you aren't the person on the registration then that is a moot point, because they'll have to go with you.

The turn around on the key is actually really quick. I believe I waited three days for mine... you should probably order two, just to be safe.

You better count on the thief not learning to drive a stick.

Anyhow, you need new keys and new codes for the engine immobilizer.

Btw, put the key in a ziploc bag and bury it the sand... make sure you know where it is.

Myke,

I go to a MINI dealership that knows me...so I can give my VIN# and they can punch up all the work that was done on my car, my address, my phone number in their computer.

Bring a passport, anything with your address (MINI Payment), SSN Card, Car Loan Contract...
