any ipod adapters similar to the factory?

i have an 07 mcs w nav and am looking for an i pod adapter cheaper version that does the same thing as the factory ipod adapter... meaning i want to see it on my screen and use the features on the steering wheel, play music videos, ect... are there any out there that work the same that dont carry the ridiculous price of the mini usa one?

Morristown Mini use to list the factory one for $263. They redid their store front though and the price went up to $360. Not sure of any aftermarket ones.

Well first off the only iPod adapter that works with the MINI is the OEM. This will aslo "not" allow for Video to play on the North American versions as it is ilegal to have video playing where the driver can see it in most states and canada.

There is however an adapter that is sold by newministuff.com that will allow video to be played on the NAV Screen, but you will also need to have the OEM adapter as far as i know for control of the iPod itself.

Might be less expensive to buy the USB retrofit kit and use a flash drive. Kit was for post 8/07 build cars.

I've found a USB adapter with a 16GB SD card works just great. Stores a lot of music, allows you to select playlists, artists, etc and is cheap. SD cards are cheap, USB adapters are usually free with the card. Why mess with an ipod? Oh yeah, I've never owned an apple product and never will.
