2010 HK Audio freakin out!

For the last week my Radio is really acting weird. I have the upgraded HK with Bluetooth, Sirius, and iPod adapter. I will be listening to a song on the iPod when the song will just stop and the display on the radio will change from iPod, to empty USB, then it will flip to Sirius radio on it's own.

Today I figured out it might be an iPod / Bluetooth issue since the bluetooth will fail at the same time as the iPod stops working. Then magically I will see the little blue flashing LED on my BlackBerry indicating it is talking to the radio again, when this happens the radio can once again see the iPod.

I guess both these modules are related and that is what is failing? Anyone else have this issue with their 2010 Coopers?

Actually the Bluetooth and the USB/AUX connections are handled by the same module. It is called the ULF module and from the sounds of your problem you may have a loose connection from the wiring harness to the module, or the module is bad.

Have the dealer check it out.

Thanks, I will call the dealer. I will give them a head's up that they may need to have the part on hand.

Best of luck. My old "steal"ership would NEVER keep or verify that they had a part on hand even if I knew with 100% certainty what part needed to be replaced. They would always insist on a diagnostic, then if they didn't have the part in stock I would have to drive back...

example: Broken sun visor. They insisted they look at it first.

Incidentally-- I have also had this problem. I would say it happens maybe once a week or so. It is quite irritating. I think it happens more often if I have disconnected my ipod to put more music on it, and then plugged it back in. It will play songs for a bit, then it will just stop and the radio will turn on. Let us know how you make out with the dealership.

It seems that I am having a similar problem with my HK system as well. When I plug the Ipod in and switch to it on the radio it will play like five to ten seconds of a song and then the display will go blank and the song will stop. If I turn to the tuner and back it will display the empty USB. After I plug and unplug the Ipod a couple of times it finally works. I thought that it was just the heat since it was a little warm lately and the problem only started about a week ago.
