I took off the OEM cup holder for my 1st generation MINI when I first got it because I thought it was annoying. After awhile I reinstalled the cupholder but because I removed the adhesive the holder makes noises when I'm driving over rough roads. What do you recommend for the holder to be tightly glued to the plastic pillar without damaging any parts? Perhaps liquid cement?

 

I would just get some double-sided adhesive tape.

 

Mine does the same... If you do get some of the sticky tape make sure that it is not the permanent stuff. That should tighten it up enough to stop the rattle.

 

I used Scotch brand double sided mounting tape. It worked perfectly, no more rattling.

 

Actually, as an alternative to the double-sided tape, perhaps consider a rubber cement solution (unless that's what you meant when you said liquid cement).

 

Scotch trim mounting tape - the red-backed stuff. Permanent enough, but removable if you really want to, and foamy so it quells the vibration.
