Clicking Sound With CEL CC ID 029

Mini r56 S 2007 a clicking sound under the hood with cel the dealer claiming that Alta air intake is causing a misfire but I'm suspecting the high pressure fuel pump.

What do you think

The only thing I can really suggest is to remove the Alta part and put back the OEM to see if the problem is still there.

But the noise is coming from the engine itself not the turbo and correct me if am wrong what an AIT do with misfire or HPFP it only more air into the engine?

With your description, it is difficult for anyone to give you a reasonable diagnosis.

There is always lots of clicking sounds from the engine which is normal. You will hear a lot more with the open CAI.

If you like the dealer to help you diagnosis this, then remove the parts they blame.

If you are a "normal" home mechanic, it would be relatively difficult to change the HPFP yourself. And it is expensive.

Ok here is an update

I took the car from the dealer they told me they don't know whats the problem.
Anyway, I checked the car today morning it had several fault codes
3 misfire
4 misfire
knock sensor
in addition to Cel with code CC ID 029

they have tried the HPFP, sparks, Coils, wires and injector but the problem still there.

Ok it's misfiring like crazy with a noise like clicking while driving only & when the engine get hot which I think it caused by the timing between the fuel and air and the spark in piston 3 & 4.

Is it the O2 sensor or what?

This thing is driving me crazy!!!
