Dealer wanted my 2009 as a trade in
Well, I stopped in at Key’s Mercedes in Van Nuys Ca to check out the new 2011 E350 Convertible. While I was there of course they wanted to sell me a new Mercedes I had my 2009 cooper S convertible apprised. Well, they told me my car was worth $30,000.00 as a trade in. That’s what I paid before taxes on my cooper s but of course I got great deal from desert mini of las vegas last July on my car. They also asked me if my car had JCW package installed. They told me that it would add $600.00 to the value. They are taking orders for the E350 and offered me a discount of $7500.00 off sticker of $61,000.00 I do not want to get rid of my cooper I just stopped in to look at the new E350. I like the new BMW Z4 and I am going to add that to my collection. My cooper s has 2500 miles on it.

I hate to ask, but why are there so many leftover 2009 Mini's available? I just purchased one from Crevier Mini - PW, Aero Pkg, Manual Trans, HiFi (going to upgrade speakers), Convenience Pkg, Heated Seats, Sirius, Sports Pkg. I got a great deal on it.
Its not an appraisal, its a negotiating tactic. They had already taken $7500 off a car with a $61000 sticker. Better to offer more for the trade than go lower on the new car. The real question is why are they so hot to dump a 2011 model 'vert that they will have to order?
