First oil change and detailing...
Well, I did the first oil change since I bought my 04 MCS in December (not really time but I wanted peace of mind since I didn't know if the selling dealer used synthetic). I gotta tell ya, I'm loving this car more everyday. Simple as any oil change I've done over the years and while I was at it, I did some detailing. I clayed the whole car, including the glass, polished all the black on the a-pillar, b-pillar and c-piller, Zaino'd the whole car, Rain-X'd the glass, new wipers and have started in detailing the wheels that the PO let go a little. This car is so easy to wash detail and wax I love it!
My previous car was a 2003 Boxster and same thing, easy to care for, easy oil changes and both are so much fun to own and drive. The Boxster is gone but didn't need as much care as the MINI since I bought it new and kept up like a crazy person. The MINI has the R84 wheels and they have tar/brake dust built up in the corners from lack of cleaning good. I have one completely clean but need something better to work with. I've used Mothers, Turtle Wax Color Back, Neverdull and some new bug and tar remover from Turtle Wax that is worthless. Any suggestions on what to safely remove tar would be great.
While working on the oil change, I jacked up the front on stands and decided to do the wheels, while it was draining. With the front up, I jacked up the left side rear and was able to get the whole car up on 2 stands and my jack and put the 3rd stand on the other side. Then the car stayed up high enough to take out the jack and put the 4th stand in. Gotta love a stiff car! :D

Nothing like that first wash!
I can't wait to get around to detailing mine. I just went with a quick AIO wax this time around. I plan on claying and going with a Klasse line up next time.
Any pics of your ride?
