Navigation & Audio Alarm for 2010 Clubman
Alarm for 2010 Clubman
Hello - just wondering if anyone else has had this problem. I decided to have a dealer installed alarm put in my clubman. I left my car at the dealership and got a call a couple of hours later. "They" said that starting with the 2010 models the wiring was not included in production. The price went up alot. I would have thought the dealership would have known about this, but when I asked that question "they" said they had no idea until they called miniusa. If I had known this I would have had it installed when buying the car. Don't get me wrong - I love my Agatha..just wanted to protect what I bought.
Having to install the wiring harness would cost you BIG$$$ in labor charges. I considered the factory alarm but after consulting with my father who is a veteran auto theft task force LEO I decided not to bother. Basically the only way a 2nd Gen MINI can be stolen is by actually having the key fob or using a flatbed tow truck to haul it away. In both instances the alarm would prove worthless anyway.
Unfortunately there have been some others that have stated the same thing recently. There is at least one other thread on this exact same subject.
