16" by 9" max tire size?

16" by 9" max tire size?
I wonder how wide a tire a person could fit on these rims on a undropped MINI ?(these wheels are for sale in the marketplace)

Nice car. I've heard that you can fit 225/45 but on a 15" rim (Without Trimming). Not sure about 16". Maybe 40 profile instead?

True, becasue its less than 23" total diameter.
