Ok, I have a 2007 BASE model Mini. I have pics posted in my gallery. I have two speakers on Each front door...I have a tweeter looking thingy on each front pillar. Near the height or slightly above the dash, on the pillar, in my pics.
I also have two 6 ish by 9 ish looking speakers on the sides behind the front seat, -not pictured-take my word for it--- on the sides of the wall? of the back of the car behind the front seats but in front of the rear seat backrest. I would like better speakers. These sound like...well....dogshite. I go to Best Buy, they don't know **** about Mini's...they might know Ford, they don't know Mini. I go to Crutchfield.com...... They kinda maybe have seen a Mini, as it passed them on their way to work...they flipped off the Mini...and posted a few leads for apparently what they think are replacement speakers. They offer 6 or 10 speakers as a reference point. I have freaking 8 8 8 8 8 eight speakers. I have Eight holes, therefore, EIGHT FRAKING speakers. I am open to both suggestions as well as switching to decaf.

 

If you have the tweeters in the a pillars you also have tweeters in front of the 6x9's, therefore, 10 speakers. (the tweeters are NOT attached to the 6x9's)

 

Yep the tweeters in the rear are in their own capsule attached to the perforated cover.

 

So what you need to do is to read, read, read threads in this section of the forums.

There is also a search function (does not work very well but it is a starting point) and see what others have done. There are probably hundreds of threads here on what speakers people have used and what they have done with their audio systems.

 

plus if you have tweeters in the A-pillar that actually means you have the Hi-Fi Stereo... just think about how bad the base is if this is the UPGRADE!! haha (no seriously the base stereo is embarassing for 1985)
