37mm OFFSET Question
>>Is anyone running rims that are 37mm offset? please let me know .And if so what is your tire size? Thanks
If you are not planning to lower your MINI you may install wheels that have up to 37 to 48mm offset and not have rubbing. Stick to 215/45 or 215/40 as the maximum width tire for 16 or 17"
If you do lower the car then you can go to 42 to 48mm offset and not get rubbing. Some variation for different lower spring sets.

Thanks for the info.. I have read your previous posts concerning the 37mm question but I was wondering if anyone actually has a 37mm offset. I have a deal lined up for some Mille Miglia Evo 5 wheels with a 37 mm offset. Any pictures out there?

I just scored some 17x7 OZ Superleggera's on eBay, and I'm wondering which tires to use, also. I'm using stock ride height, and the wheels have a 37mm offset. Would 215/40-17 keep me from rubbing?

If you have rims that are 17x7 and stock suspension then 37 offset should be fine with the following tire sizes-
Stock 205/45-17 (hard to find much in that size)
215/45-17 better load rating but some tires have a square shoulder (rubs maybe). e.g. Yokohama ES100.
Bridgestone Potenza S-03 tires in this size would be OK.
215/40-17 has lower load rating so while not recommend will not rub.
All these should perform well.

Could you elaborate on that Alex? I know that some wheels require adapters but are these adapters bad idea?
Obviously, the plastic rings are bad for racing but would they hold up for AutoX?
Thanks,
Sid

As long as the vehcle's weight is supported on the centerbore A 37 will not create an issue. If a wheel rides hubcentric.... Think of the right triangle, strut being the verical, and a line out of your stub axel represents the base. 37's sits out further than OE, but if they mantain the line off the bore- it will not cause a bend in the base - a clean non stressed fitting.
