Tire and Wheel Insurance

For those of you who got this, where did you get it from, what did you pay (if you don't mind sharing) and would you do it again?

My neighbor had a 3-series with RFTs and he bubbled them constantly. My old 5-series never had an issue but if the price is right, I might get the insurance.

As most will say and do, Ditch the runflats, and insurance is a waste.

As with many, including myself, one of the best things it getting regular tires, and the thought of replacing RFs with more RFs is unappealing.

Agreed the insurance was about $550.00 ditch the run flats. My first hand experience: I paid for it when I bought the car and hit a pot hole the very next day! Then the dealler said it has a 30 day grace period and to file a claim 30 days later saing it happened then. I went ballistic and they refunded my money 550.00 and I replaced the wheel and tire..

Well, no need to turn it into a run-flat debate - I know how much better the car drives without them (I loved switching to my non-RFTs on my 5-series for my winter tires). However, this is the wife's fun car and the ride with RFTs on 16s is just fine for her and I'll take the extra piece of mind not having to worry about flats, changing tires, moving the rears to the front etc. So the run-flats stay and now I need some insurance ideas please

if you are running 17's, i would def say to get the insurance. with 16's you should be ok. just make sure you keep the tire pressures high - gives you good protection to the tire/wheel. are you planning on changing the wheels in the near future?

Nope, I think the 16s are going to stay on.

Just checked Tirerack.... the Conti 16s go for $144 per tire......

I guess I won't be getting the insurance!

Should have checked that first
