I have a 2002 mini cooper I would like replace the outer cv boot on the passengers side but can not figure out how to separate the short shaft at the out side joint so I can do this can anybody help me out with any info thanks in advance

I'm guessing you have some high mileage on your '02. Best advice is to replace the entire shaft (especially if you hear clicking when you take turns), as it has splines on both ends and just slides into place. If you have a mechanic friend at a shop, see if they can order the axles through a parts store. My friend was able to get both of them complete for about $350.
CV shaft
looking to separate the short shaft on the passengers side out by the wheel to replace a boot thats started to rip, there is no clicking or issues that i can tell with the joint except the ripped boot
