Experienced Mini Owners! gotta few simple questions :)

Hey there, NAM.

I recently introduced myself in the 1st gear section. I bought a used 2003 mini Cooper S with 70,000 miles on it. So far from i've noticed it is in great condition.

I bought this car with no warranty, so i need to do my best in keeping the car in good shape for as long and as mechanically possible (which i plan to do)

Here are the questions:

I was reading in DIY section, and read up on resetting the ECU. Should i do this? Is it ok for me to do this? should you only do this under certain circumstances?

At 70,000 miles what are some things i can do to re-insure my car is happy and healthy for more years to come besides regular oil changes?

Thanks everyone. I love this site, always come across cool stuff!

I would suggest re-setting the ECU after having purchased the vehicle. It will learn the way that you drive, and possibly give you a bit of a peppier feeling. It honestly doesn't hurt, If I remember properly, it is simply un-plugging the battery as if you were working on the vehicle's electrical system (or removing a seat!)

Looks good BTW!

VERY nice mini. Are those the R56 S wheels painted black?

As for the ECU thing, I didnt notice any changes on my car when I did it. Although others said it helps alot. Try it, it cant hurt your car.
