A question about bump stops and shocks

So I have an '04 cooper (non 's') and I'm getting some H&R sport springs. Do I need to get new shocks?

Or I have heard that you can cut one of the lobes off of the bottom bump stops... Is that possible?

Thanks

If your current shocks are still in good shape, you can just cut the bumpstops and you should be ok. The H&R's slam the car so you won't have much suspension travel, cutting the bumpstops is a must.

Ok sweet. Do you think that one lobe is enough? Or how much of the bump stop should be cut off?

The H&R springs produce about 1" drop, so by coilover standards the car is not going to be "slammed" (i.e., more than 2"). Nevertheless, Way is right, if the stock shocks are in good condition you should be ok with just buying the springs.
