2004 Automatic Mini Cooper - Transmission Fluid

Hello,

I was just wondering if anybody can tell me how to check and see if my transmission fluid needs to be changed? When I got my car it was a little over 50,000 miles and I have no idea if it has ever been changed.

Any MINI dealer should be able to run your VIN # in their computer and see if it has ever been changed (by a MINI dealer). There is no dipstick or anything for you to check it. If there is no record of it ever being changed, I would go ahead and have it done. I'm assuming you have a non-S Cooper with a CVT automatic tranny. Oh...and...uh... Welcome to NAM!

The dealer told me last week it should be done every 60k. If you are unsure, I would do it. Worth the $180 to keep your CVT working its best.
