Hey guys, I installed the Promini intake just now, and all is fine, except for the fact that I made this discovery when I was under the hood. Notice the RUSTY bolt. Is this bad? I'm going to take it in.

WOW

On my monitor, that bolt is about the size of my entire car!

I don't kow exactly where it is, but the dealer will probably just
say it's normal.

You could clean it up, and put on a blob of grease, and it should survive.

that looks like the end of your clutch throwout bearing shaft, not a bolt. I wouldn't worry about it.

am not **** about rust, am not, am not....

maybe because i hang around arirplanes, maybe because i've had stuff rusted together that i wanted to service, maybe because it just looks neglected, but i don't let things get rusty like that if i can help it.

as soon as i see rust or corrosion, i treat it. the best stuff i've found is "corrosion x."

i even tried one of those sacrificial galvanic block things when i lived in the northeastern u.s., where you could get high blood pressure just from looking at all the salt they put on the roads.

Yeah, sorry about the size of the picture guys, I just really wanted to get that up there to get your opinions. Well, from what it seems, it's not as critical as I thought perhaps...

Mine looks exactly the same and started to look that way maybe six months after I got the car. Probably nothing to worry about.
