When I installed a B&M shifter on my '02 Cooper, I broke the gray plastic housing that fits over the gearshift ball. If I'm reading the parts diagrams on RealOEM.com correctly, it looks like I have to buy the entire shifter assembly to get that part. Do any of you know if there's any way I can buy just the part I need?

I would check wrecking yards, etc locally......
WayMotorWorks sometimes buys cars and parts them out...he might have what you are looking for...maybe you could send him the diagram or picture with the part and ask?!

 

I broke mine and just glued it back together and threw it back in. I have the (earlier?) other version, so may be a little different, but it's worked fine so far. As I understand it, from the dealer you do have to buy the whole assembly which is rather pricey for a flimsy piece of plastic.

Sorry you can't buy just the center plastic piece, you have to get the whole shifter assembly. I may have a used one in stock.
