I have a few questions about the MITM schedule to make sure I am planning correctly because I will be traveling to MITM based on the MTTS schedule. I want to make sure I plan MITM and MTTS overlap the best that I can based on the limited MTTS details.

1. From the MTTS schedule it looks like MTTS will not get to Winter Park until Thursday afternoon after leaving Grand Junction on Thursday morning. Is that what you also believe will be the case?

The reason I ask is that based on earlier schedule assumptions, I made reservations at Winder Park for Wednesday through Saturday nights (4 nights) but it now looks like MTTS will not arrive in Winter Park until Thursday so I can cancel my Wednesday night reservation. I am quite bummed about missing Wednesday night at MITM because I was excited about the Brew Swap.

2. The MITM Saturday night run to Mt Evan is scheduled to start from Winter Park at 10:00 PM but from the MTTS schedule it looks like the MTTS Festival will go until 9:30 which I suspect will not leave enough time to get back to WP by 10 (I am guessing about 1.5 hour drive from Infinity Park Stadium to WP). MTTS usually does the concert on Saturday evening, do you have any idea if they plan to end the concert early enough to make it back to WP for the Mt Evans run? I was hoping that most of Saturday's MTTS activities would be a Red Rock (closer to WP) but it looks like Glendale/Infinity Center (other side of town) will be the main area for MTTS activities. That makes it more difficult (drive time wise) for the MITM participants.

3. The Saturday MTTS schedule shows a Rise & Shine Rally at Red Rocks from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM. However, the MITM schedule shows leaving for the MTTS event at 9:00 so I would guess arriving at MTTS Rise & Shine at 10:00 or a little after (at least an hour after it starts). I suspect you are aware of the MTTS details for the Rise & Shine Rally on Saturday and we will not miss any key MTTS activities by getting there an hour or so late?

Indeed. Grand Junction is a short 4 hours from WP.

Skip Junction and come over early. You can have a sound night's sleep and see all the MITM attraction before the MTTS boys and girls arrive.

You can meet us at the base of Mt. Evans after driving the east side of the Western Dragon. We should be pooling at the bottom about 11:00 PM. Depending on numbers we may even need to stage the ride up so as not to overwhelm the road (or drivers).

I figured it would take them an hour to get to Red Rocks, but if I'm wrong we can leave earlier (Berthoud Pass is open 24/7 except for snow).

Thanks for the answers.
I was originally thinking of skipping Grand Junction but that will make for a long drive from Bonneville to Winter Park on Wednesday because MTTS does not leave Bonneville until 10 AM. I would guess 500 miles or so.

Cool mountain breezes, majestic snow-capped mountains, ice cold beer...
just tell me when to stop.

The Bonneville Salt Flats seems like a very cool idea. However, I'm a little worried about caking the entire bottom of my Mini with an inch of salt.

I figure the salt will wash off and I suspect I will never have another chance to drive on the salt flats. That said, I am also concerned that salt will get into places that will be hard to wash out, such as between the underbody tray and the bottom of floor pan. I hope the MINI corrosion protection is good.

Depending on when you think you might hit KC, there are several of us leaving Wed from KC for WP, you might be able to hook up with us if you like.

We leave St Louis Wednesday morning, and pull into KC in the afternoon. So yall are going to pull in, group up, then continue the trek to WP? Sounds good to me. I was just going to go the fastest way from St Louis to Denver cause I need to be in WP early thursday morning (planning on getting some graphics).

The ONLY reason I wanted to stay in Denver wednesday night is because I wanted to do the twisty roads from Denver to WP during daylight. I assume by the time we get from St Louis to Denver, it will be dark.

Hi quikmni,

There are a bunch of us coming from Los Angeles that will probably skip the Grand Junction leg and head straight for Winter Park from Salt Lake City on Wed morning. We figure we should be in Winter Park by approx 4-5 PM if we leave at 7:30am.

We will not be going to Bonneville as many from our club SCMM, have done the Salt Flats already. I've seen these cars after they spent 3 days on the flats and I do not want to subject my new JCW Clubman to all of that salt. You are welcome to join our caravan on Wed if you like.

Mark & I will be somewhere in Kansas Wednesday morning heading for Winter Park by the afternoon. Maybe we'll see you along the way. If not, see you in WP for sure. Missed you in Arkansas.
