I didn’t find that anyone else posted this problem (my search skills aren’t the best) so I thought I might. I took my ’08 MCS in to have the windows reprogrammed (the driver’s side kept rolling down halfway after reaching the top) and mentioned that the last couple times I had parked my car after running errands, I hadn’t heard the little buzzing of the pump that cools the turbo. I usually hear it every time after parking. I don’t run my car hard very often so I thought maybe, just by chance, it didn’t need to come on the last few times.

I get a call from the service department a couple hours later that the auxiliary water pump (P/N 11-53-7-563-721), the one that feeds the turbo, had failed! They said luckily I had caught it before it did any damage like warp the turbo. They inspected the turbo and said it looked perfect.

Just thought I’d mention that this could be something to look out for. My car hit 20,000 last week, less than two years old.

Just got home from the dealership and my car is hissing happily again .
