i know I am probably overlooking the answer but is the Bentley manual the best repair manual? Are there any other manuals I should invest in. My wife has a blue and silver '07 mini that is now out of warantee and it looks like I'm tasked with doing the upkeep. If someone can point me to the right thread it would be greatly appreciated.

 

I might be mistaken here, but I don't think they have a Bentley manual out for the R56.
Have you tried looking in the forums here? Most of what you will need to do as far as maintenance goes has been done by members and posted on the forums here.

saturn is correct Bently has not come out with a manual for the R56 yet. They say they are working on it but that they do not expect it to be complete until at least late summer, or at least that is what their customer service people told me.
