Things I've Learned on NAM

Bought my MCS the end of November.
So far, from the members of NAM I've learned:

About the sport mode modification.
That I have a secret compartment.
That a Cobalt donut spare works and is cheap ($30).
How to switch my front and rear speakers so they sound better.
That the clunking in the rear is my hatch (next trip to dealer).

Thanks Everyone

What kind of clunking noise is it? Does it happen when you go around corners? It could be the strings that hang from your parcel shelf....

Sounds like a car door partially open. Only on hard bumps.

Heyyyy, wait a minute... I've got a set of of JCW wheels for sale on the market place...

And actually, you may be referring to me. I originally put them in there for 1100 plus shipping because when I sold my Challenge wheels, they were like 1500 bucks.

Now that I'm selling a set for a friend months later, I have found out that Mini has lowered the price so I had to change the price.

In fact, the few people I've had interested pointed it out and I told them the new price but forgot to change it on the marketplace ad.

So if it was me you were referring to, the new price has been changed.

Haha... I'm sure you're far from the only person that has happened to. I'm sure some of the MA's forget to mention it, and probably most people who buy used ones don't know until they bump it or are cleaning it... Oh, or pushing on it to make it stop rattling. :D

Nope, mines a 4 lug.
I picked mine up in a junk yard, it was from a sedan. Not sure what year.
Like new, $30.
It's a 15" and will only fit the rear on an 'S'. If you have a flat in the front you
have to switch around.

I don't have the shelf in.
Actually read on the forum somewhere that Mini had an issue with the hatches thumping and they have a fix.

If my wife were driving....

Officer: Can I help you ma'am?

My wife: Well, sir, I don't know. I have a flat.

Officer: Do you have a spare?

My wife: Yes, yes I do but it's only for the rear tire.

NAM is a sight that I try to share with all Mini Owners when you see them in passing, something about having over 75,000 members that helps when you need a question answered. As I try to get my oldest daughter to get a Mini to replace her New Beetle I have recommended she look at NAM and get some ideas on what issues people have such as "I wish I had gotten....". Thanks to all the other members that make this site what it is

... that this is one of the greatest internet forums, visited by some of the most wonderful people. I've learned so much about Minis and have corresponded with so many awesome people, who have a perspective of reality that I find very comforting. Thanks!
