Corner weighed my Mini

Just for fun, i was at the track, my friend was manning the corner scales, thought i'd hop in it since it was free...

options on my car (that would effect the weight):

07 MCS
leather seats (the normal not the lounge)
panoramic roof
manual tranny
R97 flame spokes

and a bunch of loose stuff in the back seat/trunk..

so it was far from "race ready" or anything

weight is in KG

for stock it's quite good tbh.. if it was RHD it would of been even better I bet..

is that an adjustable suspension? the main point is the cross weight, and that is off a fair bit, right?

LF and RR are a bit heavy, yes?

quite a difference in F/R balance between the left and right sides?

Thats what all the rx7s are for. now I got it. The 50/50 weight balance of 3 rx7s automatically offset the mini not being fully balanced.

LOL

hehehe

I did it just for fun really... as I was interested in the Real weight of the car vs manuf. claims...

the guys at the scales told me they were pretty impressed, out of the box being so close left and right... and they've seen cars WAY off..

but being transverse obviously it's going to be nose heavy..

no the suspension isn't adjustable...

Yea I was just giving you a hard time. Your rx7 list looks like my old rx7 list. Except the 93. If I didnt move out of Michigan to California I would still have most of them.

It is nice seeing some true numbers!

Those numbers better be Kg's. If it's not, I want the write up on the weight reduction...

Are you planning on setting up your MINI for the track? Love to see a comparo between it and your RX-7's.....

I mentioned in my first post that it was in kilos

as for the mini on the track. Nope. Ever since I took my car to the dealer and they flashed the ecu from a nippy 07 to a dog 09. I hate the car now.

One of the rx7s I'm properly stripping and gutting and making a track only car

but recently I've lost interest in Cars and have become a big motorcycle person after I bought a ducati a few months back. And as soon as my full leathers arrive I'll be taking that bad boy out to the track instead.

I've not heard of this. My 2007 MCS has had at least one software upgrade, but performance wasn't affected.

It's documented in the forums here and elsewhere. Everyone knows the 07s were the quickest batch. Posting more hp than rated even

BMW killed the power later so that was a wider gap between the s and the works (both the upgrade kit and the car)

after my flash. My car no longer torque steers feels less punchy. Laggier in the mid range. And doesn't seem to pull as hard. As if that wasn't bad enough. The upgrade also introduced some cold Partial throttle hesitation as well

they pretty much ruined my car *sigh*

Damm ... I just traded an '07 MCS for a '10, and first thing I noticed was that the new one felt a bit sluggish in the pedal. I thought maybe it was just 'cos it's new, or possibly a slight variance in throttle position mapping. I know no two cars will feel exactly the same, but this seemed like too much of a difference to attribute to just a different car. It still feels snappy in Sport mode, but I don't use that for my daily commute. When, and by just how much did they 'kill' the power? How very disappointing. More reason to expedite the addition of a DoS intake, I guess!!

And if it's just an ECU flash that killed it, seems like it shouldn't take that much to get it back ... ??

So my 2007 has higher h.p. plus no stupid TPMS sensors in the wheel! Cool.

That's FTM, not TPMS. It'll tell you you have a flat tire, but the pressure has to get pretty low before it notices.

Drivers side is auto up but pass. Only down

I actually prefer the 2 **** radio over the new one

and of course more power is better.

Wow this topic has drifted lol
