Anyone in Vegas changed LCA bushings before

My daughter has a 2006 Mini Cooper S and the dealer just told me that the Lower Control Arm bushings need to be replaced. I have a hydraulic 4 post lift in the garage but I am unsure about attempting the job myself. Are there any mini techs who do private side jobs around Vegas?

How much should I expect to pay for this labor if I order new control arms with poly bushings already installed?

Thanks!

Bill

Hey Bill, I'm sure you could find someone in Vegas to help you. However PowerFlex that makes the poly bushings for most MINI vendors had a major fire and are all back ordered for weeks.

If you can't wait for the polys then get a set of OEM replacements that come in the bracket. Most shops will charge 2-3 hours for the job. Money well spent if you ask me having done them.

Where can I order OEM bushings in the brackets?

Still hoping to find someone who knows how to do the job that may save us some money compared to paying the dealer or a shop. Reading the forum it seems like a lot do this themselves. Having the 4 post lift should help make it easier to work on.

Thanks!!

Bill

You can get the OEM bushings from the Dealer or many of the NAM vendors. Part #'s are 31126757561 and 31126757562

Check out http://www.minicooperspeed.com/mini-...frame-r50-r53/ for more details about DIY and with a rack it will easier.
