Anybody running wheels that size/offset? What size tires for a sexy stretch but not a ridiculous amount? Will I be safe driving daily or will I destro the axles?

RALLY!!

99% sure those would rub if you had any tire on the rim and were lowered.

Where would they be rubbing? Is the offset the problem?

The poke wouldn't be so bad if the wheels were wider so you could run a bit of stretch. Low offset is hard to pull off on skinny wheels. I'd go with higher offsets or wider wheels.

That wheel will poke around an inch. The main problem will be getting a tire to stretch enough to allow for that poke. Going to have to run something like a 195/40 or smaller.

Ahh, I got beat

So if I go wider will I still have rubbing issues? Whats a good width for 16s then?

Depends on the offset. "Good width" depends on the owner and application. People have fit anything from 5.5 up to 9 inches wide.

If 195/40-16 then very few tires to choose from.

Yokohama S.Drive

It's not an ideal tire for the MINI
Load rating is too low at 80, usually need 84 or higher
Tire diameter is too short at 22.1", stock is 24.3"
Fits rims 6.5-7.5" so you could stretch it on an 8" rim for effect.

195/45-16 might work better.

195 will stretch an alright amount on 7.5's. It's not much, but it'd be enough to offer some clearance.

Yep, they are my wheels.

205/45/r16 Falken 512s specifically. According to Rally and other gurus you need to run a tire that will stretch a bit. A 205/45/16 Falken 512 will actually give you more room than 195/45/16s like the S-Drives.

Rally officially hates me...
