Consider the Bridgestone Potenza S-03 Pole Position in 205/50-16 at $140 each Rating 220 AA A

and
http://www.tirerack.com/tires/Compar...p;x=17&y=6
Very good traction on the track, mod long tread life for street use but one of the heaviest tires and costs more.
Ask Alex@tirerack which size would work best

Or from tirerack consider Yokohama Parada Spec 2 in 205/45-16 for $88 each Rated 300 AA A
http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....=Parada+Spec-2
Very good sticky track tire. Not as long wearing for street use and somewhat noisy.

Or Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3 in 205/45-16 for $116 each, or in 205/50-16 for $117 each Rating 280 AA A
http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....Eagle+F1+GS-D3
Some people really like this tire for the track. Others are less impressed.

Or Yokohama AVS Sport 205/55-16 for $120 each rated 180 AA A
http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....odel=AVS+Sport
Better track tire, not sure if this size is any good for the MINI.

Or Yokohama AVS ES100. 205/45-16 or 205/50-16 for $78 each Rated 280 AA A
http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....odel=AVS+ES100
Good street tire, quiet, smooth riding, mod long life and good but not quite as good track tire.

This tire has the best grip of any I've ever used, but wore out in 14k miles of street driving on my WRX.

I've read great things about these, I may try them in the future

This is the tire I'll be getting intitially to replace the runflats because it's the lightest - I'm going fot the lightest possible 16" wheel/tire combo.

Hey Mike, are you referring to the Kosei's I sold you? Those are 16 x 7.5. I was running 205/50s on them and it just seemed the tire tread could be plus sized. I've hear people are running 215/45 on them. I've heard others running 225/45 (wider yet), but they rub when the suspension is compressed especially in the rear. I know your car is lowered, and the rubbing can get worse. Overall your best be is 215/45 on those 7.5" wide rims.

I ran into issues running the stock 205/45-17 on an 8" wide rim. From my research I believe the 205 is not recommended for rim widths larger than 7".

Have a look at my tire/wheel weight and offset post! I have weight on EVERY product I sell for Mini there!

Personally 16x7.5 SSR comps SML with 205/50/16 AVS ES100

30.9 lbs a corner!

Alex

I love the AVS ES100's from Yokohama. Very sticky when you get them warmed up. Have to wait some miles to report on longevity of the tires as I just got them a couple weeks ago.

However, they were fantastic on the Tail of the Dragon.
