Show me your painted or BBK calipers!

I have been dying to do something with my brakes to spice up the look of the car. So far to my disappointment, there don't seem to be any BBK's that come with yellow calipers, so i'm looking for alternatives now.

I would love to see what others have done be it factory JCW's, painted, or big brake kits.

Thanks everyone.

If I wasn't so worried about what I think the heat will do to them, I'd find out... I've still got some yellow mellow mixed.

no prob. i think the 2 yellows look very good together personally. Worst case is itll look more mellow as they dust, though im certain they wont dust nearly as bad as stock!!

Would painting the calipers effect the warranty/service agreement for the brakes?

Not unless you did something stupid like paint the pads or get paint all over the slides and therefore physically making the calipers not work.

Whoa...slow down a bit....

All the TCE kits are listed with regard to MIMIMUM wheel size necessary to fit.

Caliper kits: oe wheels.
Plus1- 15s
Plus2- 16s
Plus3/4- 17s
Plus5- 18s

That being said you could obviously put a Plus1 kit on a car with 18s. (You really wouldn't right?) But you cannot put a 13" kit inside a 16.

In all cases you're advised to consult either the links to the Wilwood pdf pages found in the Plus1 and Plus2 kit text and/or the wheel fit page at the top in the TOOL BOX.

Only this info will tell the whole story as to what you nee for YOUR wheels. There's no confirmation that because a 12.2" kit fits a 16 that it will clear YOUR SPOKES. All sizes are based on kit DIAMETER. The real issues are always caliper body to spoke clearance needs.

I tightened to 65 ft lbs. Is that enough or not?

Had the day off and it's raining (again) in Atlanta so I painted my calipers. Here are some pics that I had to take in my garage.

Painted with G2 Caliper paint - brush on method - chose it over the duplicolor b/c it is recommended for higher temperatures.....does it make a difference? probably not

and Julien 65 ft lbs is not enough - you need 103 ft lbs. - and you're not supposed to drive for 24 hours.

Does anyone have a Chili Red with yellow calipers? I'm really considering painting my calipers yellow rather than red but I would like to see it first.

are those rotors installed on the wrong side? As in left rotor on right hub and vice versa?
