Everyone be careful

I would like to say to everyone be careful and hug your loved ones tonight.

My sister in law was killed by a 4th offence drunk driver on the 12th leaving behind her daughter 9 years old, son of 21, and grandchild of 18 months. The lady that commited this crime had just posted bond 3 weeks prior for her 3rd offence. Not to mention her public intox with child endangerment.

Some people just dont think or learn from there actions.

As of right now the little girl is staying with us and we will be trying to adopt in the near future.

OMG Brian...that is so shocking and sad. My thoughts and prayers go out to your whole family.

Make one wonder how in the he11 this offender managed to get her keys back at all... What is wrong with the system?

We EIMers are all here for you.

That is horrible, Can't believe how incredibly selfish and ignorant some people can be. I seriously hope that person does some major time for her crimes. Maybe just maybe then it will sink in that you can't be so selfish and disrespectful to another persons life. Terribly sorry for your loss. Best of luck with everything.

Brian, our hearts go out to you and your family. Some things seem so senseless! If there is anything we can do to help, all you have to do is ask!

Prayers and best wishes, hugs for the children. The nine-year-old will be needing lots of them. May the adoption go well. -- Fred

Our prayers are with you both, Brian and Cora... too bad this has to continually happen. Whether an alcoholic, texting, cell phone or other distraction, people need to understand their impairment and keep the roads safe. We pray your family may heal and the adoption go well.

You know, I just don't have the right words to say to express how deeply I feel for you and your family. This hurts my soul and I pray for you all.

Brian & Cora,

Our thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family.

One can only hope that justice will be served where the drunk driver is concerned.

Sorry to hear this.

There is no excuse for drinking and driving but people do it way to much. I'm really sorry to hear that your sister in law was killed by a person that should have been put in jail after the second offence.

Just a quick update as I tend to forget to do so from time to time.

The adoption is now final and things are progressing in our new family...

The trial for the person responsible has come and she ended up the day before pleading guilty, so now one more trial (civil) and this is all behind us...
