How-tos

Maybe there should be dedicated sections in the 1st and 2nd gen for nothing but how-tos so that we aren't having to siff through crap to get to what we are looking for. So many new threads are started for no reason other then people don't want to scan hundreds of pages that aren't what they are looking for. And where is the Chat room man we need a chat so that it be instant answers and conversations.

I have been collecting how-tos and DIYs as I find them the last three years for the same reason. For me the information search is becoming far more difficult as the models age.

Agreed. I was searching for how to do an oil change and was surprised to find that there wasn't a sticky or something with a write up in it.
(not that an oil change is a hard thing to accomplish, but there are always little tidbits that people know that can help the next guy do it better, faster, cleaner etc...)

The 1st Gen section already has a thread with links to many of the how to's. If you PM, a moderator or myself, some of the threads to start off and ones you come across in the future we can create a resource type sticky for 2nd Gen and/or update the 1st Gen thread with these links.

I think if we had a specific how-to section, that was set so all new threads were moderated we would be ok. Whenever a new thread is submitted it needs to be approved before it can be seen by the public. While reply's would go up immediately.

I'm looking for this 1st Gen Thread and don't see it. I'd gladly suggest/help organize these how-to's ....If i could get started.
Can you point me to the thread? TNX!

Here's the 1st gen thread, that I'd be happy to update....

https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...8-how-tos.html

And again if people PM me or post some links here I'd be happy to sticky something like this for the 2nd gen folks. Even if the list starts small and grows a link or two at a time, eventually it can create a good one stop resource.

I think it's suggestion in the past, has always been well received, but tends to lead to one or two people getting overwhelmed, which is why I'm hoping anyone that's interested in this will send me a link.

Right now, the one thread that I know about for the 2nd Generation is:

Oil Change How to

So if I get at least two more links 2nd gen will have a sticky. And the possibility of adding dedicated sub-forums for each generation for how-tos, is currently being discussed.

There is also the front/rear channel swap thread, that should be in the 2nd generation how to section.

If you come across any DIY/Install/How to threads that fell through the crack please PM them to me so I can add them to the list in place.
