Wheel Defect?

Noticed this on on of my wheels a while back, not sure if it has changed at all, but it looks like some dust creeped in under the coating during the painting process. Only thing I'm worried about it is getting worse and possibly raising and cracking/peeling. What do you think?

(Look in the wheel lug hole on the bottom 2)

There is a little bit in the right hole as well. I don't think it will cause any problems in the future.

I know, but it's much worse on the left one...

Regardless of if it's going to get worse or not, IMO I would think this is some sort of a defect and would be something they should replace, no?

I'll address it to the dealer in my next visit....

Take it back, I would. Would you have accepted it if you noticed when you picked it up? I wouldn't have...It's obvious that it was there from the begining. If it does get worse, it'll be hard to prove that it's OEM then, why take the chance? They'll likely just repair it so that it looks perfect, but you won't be able to tell the difference between a brand new one and a repaired one. It's only gonna cost you two a couple of trips to the dealer...

I beg to differ. I'm not obsessing over it, I just don't want to see it flaking after a year when these wheels go through all 4 seasons. I've seen many OEM wheels flake, it all starts with an inadequate factory job. I don't need mine to be another one of them. If I obsessed about it I would have taken it in long ago. If they say it's normal, that's also fine, I just don't want them to plead ignorance if it spreads/cracks. It's not only a visible blemish, you feel the bumps that are raised too, it's not flat, suggesting it must have been dust in the painting process.

I apologize if I offended you in anyway.

I am a MiniAC too and would if this was my car I would be on the way to the dealer.

But how man Hyundai owners would do the same? My thoughts are not many.

No offense taken (otherwise I would have banned you )

But seriously, you're right about the Hyundai thing...HOWEVER, the same could be said to a Mini owner that isn't on forums like these message boards...They are just driver's, not enthusiasts...Plenty of Hyundai boards around, and I'm sure those guys would comment if their wheels looked like that too..
