Where can I get one? IE so that when the seats fold down its flat all the back?

I'm not sure what you mean. The seats not being flat when folded down has to do with the seats themselves.

 

Seats physically can't go flat

You can remover them fairly easily. A outfit named Schrader puts out a pretty slick rear seat delete kit. End result is a flat panel where you worthless back seat was and you have the 1-2" well where the cargo nets/grommets are.

Do a search either here on Google for more info. For a step by step a fellow motorist did a nice 'how to' on Motoring Alliance (awesome MINI site if you haven't checked it out)

Was just trying to make a flat surface with the seats down by filling in the cargo space in the trunk area.

It makes a bit of sense. This week my project is building the shelf for where the back seat was. If all goes well and anyone wants one let me know. I'm gonna start a new thread with picutes and a walk through.

I did a rear seat delete and made a new floor with some wood and a felt-like material to match the rest of the car. There's still the dip in the trunk section.

It does. As I said before the rear seats do not set flat.

I have seen a setup for taking your dog in the car that uses the rear seat delete shelf and add a piece for the cargo area that results in what you describe.

I did not bookmark as it was pretty prohibitive price wise and what I wanted to do was to have my local car audio installer create the back shelf to contain a sub-woofer. That and the rear seat delete got me the rear shelf.

Mine ended being a little diff as now the back shelf is higher than the rear seat delete cause he needed the vertical space for the Sub and some space below it for sound quality.

Worked out pretty well as now I have basically a back stop, about 4", that my dog can lean against when she gets a ride!

 

if you still want the seats to be usable and then fold down at times and have a somewhat flat area in the back with out the dip in it. There is nothing that i know of made that can take the weight of a large dog or cooler. You wuold have to build something.

Look into a clubman and you will find that has the flat floor option as standard in the US.

 

Not trying to have a hidden compartment or anything like that! Just trying to get a flat surface all the way back to the hatch. Outmotoring is just what I would want if it could support a little more weight.

Still more than i'd wanna spend. I would think SOMEBODY on this forum would be enterprising enough and skilled enough in carpentry to design a template. It would seem to be that somebody could design a plywood piece with some carpeting glued on for under $25. Then turn around and sell them for $50. Nice profit.

 

This is exactly what I working on this week. Thursday night I should hav it all done. As soon as I do I will be offering the template and even it fully made. Not sure on pricing yet. But ad I said in my last post here I will start a new thread. As soon as I have mine done I want to find someone with a first gen and get one made for that as well as the clubman.
