I am going nutz waiting for my Feb 03 production MINI with HK system. I want to get an aftermarket MP3 changes as been discussed in this forum. WIll the same kit work with the HK? I am considering asking my dealer to cancel the HK and staying with the stock unit.

 

The upcoming HK will be very nice and all... but do you relize for the $550 you can get a much much better deck and better overall system?

I am sure your correct, but I do not want to loose those nifty steering wheel controls. My current car has them and they are great. I beginning to believe that the stock stereo with aftermarket changer may be the way to go.

 

I was in your same boat... i love the steering wheel controls and didn't want to lose them either. The audio shop who helped me set my car up installed something and I still have total control of the same steering wheel functions. It was not expensive either. So... it's all good.... you can upgrade your head unit and still have the steering wheel controls!!
