R56 I love my car.
I love my car.
Because of an answer to another thread, I thought I would do what I've always thought about doing.... making a post about how much I love to drive my next to perfect car.
Other than my fuel pump getting replaced when I first got the car. I haven't had any mechanical or otherwise problems.
I ABSOLUTELY love driving my car. I find reasons to cruise. I visit my mother in FL because I love her. I visit my mother in FL MUCH MORE OFTEN because I love my car.
I was offered to buy back my C5 supercharged convertible corvette (which I absolutely loved) for considerably less than I paid for it.
I turned it down because I love driving the mini.
My H2 with liftkit and supercharger, I love that truck. It sits in my driveway.
My blown big blocked, tubbed S10... fast, yes, impressive, yes, fun.... no way as much as my JCW.
I love my car.... there, I said it.

Me too! There. I said it!
So far, I've had no problems with my MINI. I love driving it--I guess ~25K miles in a year is kind of indicative of that. Though there's different issues in every season, any downside is upped by the fun it is to get from A to B via the longest possible route. I feel really bad for the folks that have had issues with their MINIs (especially waaayyyy premature issues) but so far, I've pretty much had a smile pasted to my face for all my driving over the last year!

I too really enjoy my Mini. I have had my car about 18 months and have about 27K on my car. Great daily driver and I love taking it to a road track about once a month. People, you really owe it to yourself to find out what great performance these cars are on the track!
I had a 1984 Corvette in High School and i can say that the mini is as much fun (if not more) than that. That year vette had only 205hp (300 torque though) and handled like it was on rails. I love my mini.
congrats orangecrush may you have many happy miles!!Hmmm,a little off topic but this reminds me I haven't had a orange crush soda in a while tehehe!

Do your Mini a favour and blast this song in it once in while, just so it knows how you feel

I love mine as well. The best feeling is driving it after I have just added something new to it. It is as much fun as the Jeep I had in high school with 6 inch's of lift, 37 inch tires, and build for off road. That is one car I wish I didn't sell but the MINI is tied for first.
I LOVE MY MINI!!!!
I LOVE MY MINI!!!!
Had my 2009 MCS Convertible for 3 months. I live close to the office but turn the opposite direction on my way home to double my trip length to play with the MINI a bit more! The hardest thing is explaining to others why I am washing my own car every week when I have not washed my own car in 10 years, and what is so unique about the MINI. They think it is a cult......guess they are right

That's funny you mention the washing. I own 2 bodyshops. Each bodyshop has it's own detailer.
Point is, I'll bet I don't wash my own vehicles myself 6-8 times a year. (they usually get washed weekly or biweekly)
Point is. I wash my mini sometimes 2-3 times a week. (MYSELF) Guess cause it's smaller (as opposed to a 12" lifted H2)...lol.
In fact, (I should probably not admit this) two days ago I washed my car.... no wax, nothing special, just a good cleaning.
I drove it home and by the time I got to my house, it had rained.
So I stood out in the rain, rinsed the dirt that had gathered, pulled it in the garage and used a leaf blower to dry it.
I must be sick....there's no other explanation.

Leafblower!

Did you go to the track? How was it with the tune?
Yeah, I didn't want to drag a micro-fiber over the car in case there was dirt still on there.
Haven't been to the track yet. Next track day is Nov 7th and 8th. I'll let you know how it does.

)
Man, I really ain't that obsessed. I just wanted my car to stay clean. Next time I'll just leave it dirty.
Mark
No you won't and you know it.
I guess the leafblower was great idea, I was browsing my AW magazine and there is an advertisement for the ultimate car drying blower.
So you don't get scratches from your micro-fiber.
I guess I agree, don't want swirls from the dirt mixed with rain water or acid burns on the paint.

Add me to the list. Donkey had a transmission leak in the first 1000 miles and it was fixed under warranty but since then... I am over 20k miles since December and the only thing I don't like is that he is so damned hard to drive slow!
I too love my Mini!
He turns heads daily and zips by the big autobahn cars (and makes them angry) like they are bricks in the road.
So add me to the "I Love my Mini Club"!

Second, I hate you!
When I was in Germany (only once visiting) I didn't have any wheels to drive. Even though there are speed limits all over the place, there are enough spots that you can open it up and feel the car.
You are so lucky to be able to drive your mini on the autobahn and be within driving distance of the ring.
Mark
ha ha! I have never had him on the ring but I think I drive him harder on the road than many drive on the track! The autobahns I drive for my daily commute (100 miles round trip) only have posted limits in the constuction areas. Lucky for me I guess but self control and open roads have a difference of 12 mpg!
