carried my folding tandem bicycle decked out for a family of four on a Saris Bones 2 rack. the cars behind me kept their distance, but the thing held well. no scratches. still able to open the hatch still with the rack (minus bike of course) attached.

my tandem has a baby seat and a child seat just like my cooper. i get a lot more smiles/waves on the tandem than my cooper.

 

You think that's funny? I carry a NON folding racing tandem on my hitch rack! Have to be careful not to broomwagon fellow cyclists off the shoulder... wish I had a pic.
