Picked up an '03 CooperS - Washington, DC

As the title says, I picked up a 2003 CooperS this past Saturday. Flew up to NYC and stole it from a dealer in NJ. I live in Washington, DC so the drive back was perfect. Just long enough to start to get a feel for it without the trip being uncomfortable although it is hard to see how any trip would be in this car. A few minor issues. The passenger seat would not move from a semi-reclined position (fixed via the "Magic Pop" method on this forum) and the glove box kept opening over any bump (fixed via some dense foam under the latch). Outside, just some new wiper blades and a rear passenger reflector which turned into being a PITA to replace. Being from the carolinas I cannot wait until I get a weekend and hit the dragon!

NICE!!!

Glad you were able to get some help on the forum with your issues.

Living near the Dragon is great, but there's also sooooo many other fantastic twisties around here.

I was actually excited about it not having the sunroof. As much as I would have loved to have one I have heard about the repair costs and needless to say that makes it not so worth it. Thanks!

...sometimes I think about whether or not I could've done without the sunroof... and I think I could've but I have it so I enjoy it.

Anyways, congrats on the new car! I just did the DC to NYC to DC road trip in my MINI two weeks ago to see my brother for a couple of days. I did all my driving at night but even though it was a four hour drive for me, and while I initially dreaded the drive, I actually enjoyed just driving the highway. The added bonus was getting up to New York, doing some NYC driving plus a trip to Rockaway beach, and then getting back down to Exit 2 on the New Jersey Turnpike all on one tank which rang up to about 407 miles on my counter and 16 miles left on my range meter. I think I could've gotten up to 450 if it was all highway.
