I know this is weird, my 07 MCS with 22k on it has a weird vibration in the steering wheel that I notice, but only at speeds on the road or highway,not when you make a turn, but when you say change lanes on the highway on a street, turning the wheel left/right it has a weird shake. The steering wheel doesn't shake when you are going straight at all. Doesn't shake at any speeds, just when turning the wheel you can feel a weird feeling. Never been wrecked, etc... Car doesn't pull, not out of alignment. New tires, did it with old tires too. It does have a small bend in the right front wheel on the outer lip. Could this be the cause? If it were I'd think it'd vibrate/shake all the time, and it's not bad when it does it and I'd say no one else would really notice it, but it is an issue as I can see.

 

Yes, the small bend could be a problem. Make sure it does not leak and cause a flat. Have someone knowledgeable to check it out to make sure you ae good to drive with that wheel. If you do not track the car, many bends can be repaired if needed.

Get road force dynamic balancing to smooth out highway speed shimmys.

 

I don't believe it's a balancing issue as it was there on the runflats. I'm nervous it could be tie-rod ends, wheel bearing, bushings, etc...hopefully it's the bent wheel and I'm going to put that wheel on the back and see if that fixes it, if so i'm getting a new wheel.

 

+1 but also look at the cv boots. One might have torn and if it did you might be starting to lose the joint. Just put it on a jack and take a look there might be something down there you've never seen like the underside of your car

 

FYI, There is a big difference between a regular static wheel balance and a road force dynamic balance.

 

put the bent lip wheel on the back and it no longer does it anymore. I need a new 17" Crown Spoke.
