Interior/Exterior aftermarket lumbar support for stock seats
Here's a post of someone adding lumbar for a R56/57. I'm sure the same principle would apply for the R53.

Autozone has a few...
Autozone has 2 different lumbar supports.
The first is a similar to a "football" shaped pillow that fits with velcro to the seat. I like this pillow somewhat... It provides good support on long trips, but its not perfect. I still get some back pain; thought in all frankness I sometimes wonder if its just psychosomatic...
The other is a mesh and wire device that "sits" over the seat. The mesh looks like it would work -- but there is not enough tension on the cloth to support the lower back, and its not very useful.
The actual lumbar leather seats are not all that comfortable themselves. I took a loner on a 3 hour trip to test it out and didn't think it was worth the money to install new or trouble to have the seats retrofitted with the factory lumbar device.
The last option I am still thinking about is getting the seats "recovered" by a local company that my dealer works with. They can add a custom lumbar support designed just for the customer. If I get the new seats I'll publish a review. I have a whopping big tax bill due right now thought and it will be a few months till I can afford anything.
