Suspension Engine and trans bushings- PowerFlex or Ireland?
Engine and trans bushings- PowerFlex or Ireland?
I've read around on the forum, and it seems that the ireland ones are harder to install and are a little less forgiving. Is that the general consensus? I'm trying to decide which ones to order.

Not sure why a few guys have issues installing the IE parts when they fit in the same place and the same way. Our tech's installed both without issue.

NVH is subjective at best, but there does seem to be less of it in the early motor mount setup. I'm not a fav of the lower mount on any MINI unless you are hardcore AutoX or Track guy, I just don't see the performance improvement for the cost of the extra NVH.
I have the Ireland lower and trans mount inserts and both were installed very easily. No grinding or anything of the sort when necessary. The NVH initially is quite high, but it has settled down quite a bit. Personally i like the feel.
Well I've had the TSW damper on top, but still seemed like there was engine rock. So a vendor suggested to first try the Powerflex lower engine mount, but only the large one. It was very east to install, and did eliminate most of the rock. However, a few thousand miles later, I've picked up a squeak and a rattle in the dash at different engine RPMs. Because of this, I decided not to put this setup on my my wifes '05 Cabrio S. It is developing it's own squeaks and rattles!

but you can aloways order all of them, install all of them and remove the lower one if the vibs are too much for you. The parts are not big dollars. If you don't have a TSW Damper Kit think about one of them too. Both parts can be found on my site.
