The August 24, 2009 edition of The New Yorker magazine contains an article by Tad Friend titled Plugged In: Is the Electric Car the Future?
It's a profile of Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla. It also mentions E. V.s being planned by Ford, Chrysler, Renault, Nissan, Mitsubishi and the Chinese government, but makes no mention of the MINI-E.

That was me in #466! Thanks for posting that. Here is another link from the power of dc. In case you are wondering, I only got beat by the Teslas. My best time was 15.9at 88mph. You can see my car run in this video.
