k@n filter for 09 mcs

I think the kit offered by k@n part # 69-2004ttk is a bit pricey considering you only gain 11 hp. I was wondering would the kit that they offer void the factory warranty?

Any change to the stock configuration of the car, beyond OEM add-ons, voids the warranty. But only if it can be proven that the new part caused the problem. So if you install the K&N filter, then your lighting systems fail, you will still be covered. But if you have the same K&N filter and your engine overheats, then you might be looking at a fight to get the damage covered.

But there are some dealers that will try to make yo pay anyway because a filter change can cause electrical problems ya know. Just be aware there are some bad dealers out there.

They can try, but by law, they have to prove that the filter caused the problem.

Very true but when it is 200-300 miles to the dealer and you have to be there in person to argue with them it can also get very costly.

Install complete. There is a noticeable difference especially in sport mode.

The K&N looks nice. Sucks that you got one of the 09's without the engine badging.

Ya I actually ordered this vehicle in early 08 and took delivery oct 08 so I don't know if that has anything to do with the lack of an engine badge.
