end of model year pricing?

Any dealer incentives to move out the end of 2009 stock? Current pricing off of MSRP?

Considering a Cooper Hardtop with auto ( among a couple of other things) for my kid and trying to see if dealers are more flexible in this economy. What can I expect? Tips?

Thanks.
Regards,
Jerry

Each and every dealer will be different on what Incentives they will be offering. If they are "overstoced" then yes you will most likely be able to offer a Lower Price on something in Stock.

It might be to your advantage to use the Internet and peruse your Local Dealer's site to see what they may still have on the Lot. If you are willing to travel check those Dealer's out as well. Calling never hurts either.

Good Luck!!

I actually just put down a deposit on a Cooper S today. I got $1000 off MSRP + front and rear floor mats and boot liner. The dealer had a large inventory and was already offering $500 off. Picking up the car this Saturday, really stoked!

Buy off dealer stock = more opps for deals
Order from the factory = not so good a chance

Thanks guys.

My dealer is big, lots of stock and is not known for discounting; to the contrary, they are known for "packing" their cars ($299 for nitrogen filled tires! ).

$1000 off of an S seems fair, about splitting the spread between MSRP and invoice (less holdback).

So if I deal with my local dealer, I need to find a car in stock that is a recent arrival BEFORE they pack all the stuff on.
Regards,
Jerry

Most dealers will bump up the incentives in Jan of next year for 2009 models. I bought my MCS in Jan of 08, it was a 07 Model and I paid almost 5000 off MSRP. Good luck to you!

Holy cow $5000 off? That's a steal! They didn't sneak a $3000 doc prep fee in there did they?

$5K off? Sounds like a tall tale to me. I mean, that's nearly $2500 below invoice!

Saw the invoice, came home and built it online, was priced at just over 37k, got it for just over 32k.

Believe what you want!

As far as doc prep fee, was the normal 300..

Good for you!!

I settled at $750, no dealer fee, no dealer "packages" (including their standard $300 nitrogen in the tires package! ) they got my trade for about $500 under FMV, but then I had Uncle Sam picking up some of the slack!

Thanks for the help here!!

Regards,
Jerry
