Car Radio on / off switch

So the sun roof was open and it rained in my wife's 05 mini. She wiped the water off the seats and drove the car home (2 miles). When she got home a high pitch sound something like amplifier feedback was coming from the radio speakers. I got in and noticed the radio lights were dim then the radio quit working.

I waited a few hours then started the car. The radio came on and worked fine but when I turned the engine off and removed the key the radio stayed on and would not turn off.

I waited a few more hours and noticed the radio was not on so I tried it again. This time when I turned the engine on and off everything worked fine. But now occasionally my wife gets in the car and the radio is playing.

Has anyone seen similar problems with water damage to the radio?

first thing I'd try would be to hit it HARD with compressed air....hopefully the paths that the water followed would be the same as the air and you could get it out.

If you, nor a friend, have a compressor just go to a computer type store and buy a can of compressed air and blast 'er good anyplace you THINK water could have entered from....

Ya got nothing to lose . . .
